When it comes to the king of search engines, its all about the “links”. Google famous search engine algorithm looks for links pointing as sign to tell how relevant you are and where to place your site.
Today I had to chance to take a look at one of the tools I been hearing allot for some time, but never got around to testing it out. I am talking about Jon Ledger’s WebCom Analyst.
WebCom Analyst does one thing and does it very well, and that is to show you how many links your competition has pointing to it for a given keyword.
Now as a marketer, this bit if information is very powerful because you want to have an idea of the type of work you need to do to get to the no 1, 2 or 3 position for your keyword.
The mistake that too many beginners make, which many times is due to faulty information they get all over net, is that you just focus on certain number of competing pages. There are all kinds of bad advice to newbie’s, who may look at a keyword and assume that because there is only X number of competitors, and so they can easily get to the top by throwing a few links out.
Yes, there are ways to do this on your own, and there are other more expensive tools that can give you this deep analysis. However I have found many of the tools to be overloaded with useless information that you dont really need and I find them them too confusing and a software so heavily coded that is takes a longer time to retrieve good quality data.
If you are looking for a good, light and straightforward tool that does its job well, then Jon Ledgers WebCom Analyst gets our vote. Its inexpensive compared to other tools out there and you wont have to spend hours trying to learn all the different features.
Take a look at this quick video and see why we like this tool and recommend it to our readers.
